IN SHORT

Some issuers pay us when you apply through a link here. It never changes a score, an order or a sentence, and we list plenty of cards that pay us nothing.

This page explains exactly how the site makes money, and what that money is not allowed to touch. It is the shortest legal page we have, because the arrangement is simple.

If you only read one line: the ranking is built before anyone checks who pays us.

01

How we earn money

Some issuers pay us a referral fee when a reader opens a card through a link on this site. That fee is paid by the issuer out of its own marketing budget. It costs you nothing and it does not change the terms you are offered.

The fee varies per issuer and per card, and it is usually a fixed amount per approved application rather than a share of your spending.

02

What the fee never affects

Three things are fixed in writing and are not negotiable with any partner:

The score. Every card is rated on cost, conditions, rewards and user reports, using the same model.
The order. Lists are sorted by the criterion named at the top of the list, never by what a card pays us.
The words. No partner reviews, approves or edits editorial text before publication.
03

We list cards that pay us nothing

Roughly a third of the cards on the site have no commercial relationship with us at all. They are listed because a reader comparing this market needs to see them, and several of them outrank cards that do pay us.

Where a card has no affiliate link, the Apply button sends you to the issuer's own page with no tracking attached.

04

How you can tell

Every Apply link that carries a referral is marked as such on the card. If you would rather not use it, search for the issuer directly; you will get the same product on the same terms.

Our comparison and our recommendations do not depend on you using our link.

05

Why we do it this way

A comparison site has exactly two ways to survive: charge readers, or take a fee from providers. We chose the second because the first would put the information behind a wall.

The trade-off is that we owe you a visible boundary between the money and the ranking. That boundary is this page, the scoring model, and the fact that we publish the cards that pay us nothing.

06

Corrections

If a figure on the site is wrong, tell us and we correct it that week, whether or not the card is a partner. Corrections are dated on the card so you can see when it was last verified.

07

Not financial advice

Nothing on this site is financial, tax or legal advice, and we are not a financial services provider. Crypto involves risk, including loss of capital. Read the issuer's terms and, where the decision matters, speak to a qualified adviser.

THE TEST WE APPLY
Would we still rank it here if it paid us nothing?

Every card that appears near the top of a list has to pass that question. When the answer is no, it moves down, regardless of the commercial relationship. If you ever find a case where that looks untrue, send it to us and we will explain the score or fix it.

Something unclear?

Ask us and we will explain it, or correct the page.
