Reward rates are the issuer's published maximum and usually require a campaign or a category. Figures re-checked weekly; verify with the issuer before applying.

WHAT “FREE” ACTUALLY COVERS

Three things worth understanding

01
No annual fee doesn't mean no fees

A free tier commonly still charges for FX conversion, ATM withdrawals above a limit, or physical card issuance. "Free" refers specifically to the yearly account cost, not every line item.

02
Free tiers are usually the entry level

Issuers that offer a no-fee card almost always also sell paid tiers with better rates. The free tier gets you in the door; higher rewards typically sit behind a fee or a staking requirement.

03
Free can still mean profitable — for the issuer

Issuers make money on interchange fees paid by merchants, not just your annual fee, so a genuinely free card is a normal, sustainable business model, not a red flag.
