Bybit Card Cashback Is Changing on October 5: What Global Users Need to Know
From October 5, Global Bybit Card cashback applies only to crypto-funded purchases. Bybit EU is unaffected. Here is what changes and what stays the same.

Bybit Card: changes to your cashback rewards
From October 5, Global Bybit Card cashback will only apply to eligible crypto-funded purchases. Bybit EU is unaffected. Here is what changes, what stays the same, and why the way a purchase is funded now matters.
Bybit is changing the way cashback works for its Global Card programme.
From October 5, 2026 at 10:00 UTC, eligible purchases will only earn cashback when they are funded with cryptocurrency. Bybit is also updating eligibility for its 100% subscription cashback benefit.
The headline cashback rates are not being removed. The important change is underneath the transaction: which asset actually pays for the purchase.
Bybit has confirmed directly to CryptoCards.one that the crypto-funding requirement applies to its Global Card programme, not Bybit EU. EU cardholders can continue to earn cashback on eligible purchases funded with either fiat or crypto.
What Changes on October 5th?
For Global Bybit Card users, an eligible purchase will need to be funded using cryptocurrency to qualify for cashback.
Bybit confirmed to CryptoCards.one that the eligible assets are:
USDT, USDC, ETH, MNT, GRAM, BTC, XRP and BNB.
That gives users a broad choice of assets for cashback-eligible spending, spanning both stablecoins and major cryptocurrencies.
There is an important practical detail for anyone holding both fiat and crypto.
Bybit normally deducts an available card-denominated fiat balance first. If fiat is insufficient, it moves to the user's selected crypto assets according to their payment priority. Users can also switch fiat spending off and configure their preferred payment crypto through the Card dashboard under Paying With.
Simply holding crypto in a Bybit account therefore does not automatically make a purchase crypto-funded.
If fiat actually funds the transaction, it will not meet the new Global cashback requirement.
The Cashback Tiers Are Staying
One of the most important points is what isn't changing.
Bybit says all other eligible cashback benefits under the programme remain unchanged. The existing Global rewards ladder continues after October 5.
For Global non-VIP users, the current structure is:
- Base — $0 monthly spend · 2% cashback · $5 monthly cashback cap
- Beta — $500 monthly spend · 2% cashback · $50 monthly cashback cap
- Alpha — $3,500 monthly spend · 4% cashback · $150 monthly cashback cap
- Apex — $9,500 monthly spend · 6% cashback · $250 monthly cashback cap
- Omega — $12,500 monthly spend · 8% cashback · $400 monthly cashback cap
- Infinite — $25,000 monthly spend · 10% cashback · $600 monthly cashback cap
VIP users can access the corresponding reward tiers through their VIP status without first meeting the equivalent monthly spending threshold. Higher-spend users can also progress through the tiers, taking cashback from the 2% base rate as high as 10%, while monthly caps rise alongside the tier.
Eligible Bybit Card and Bybit Pay spending is combined when calculating monthly tier progression, giving users more than one payment route through which to build qualifying spend.
October 5 therefore does not introduce a new rewards ladder. It changes the funding requirement for earning those rewards.
Cashback Is Earned Through Bybit Reward Points
Bybit's cashback system operates through Reward Points.
Eligible Card and Bybit Pay spending generates points, which normally remain pending for four calendar days before becoming available. Users can redeem them through the Rewards Market or enable Auto Cashback to convert qualifying points automatically into their selected cashback asset.
Under Bybit's standard cashback calculation, accumulated points are valued at 0.002 USDT per point. With Auto Cashback enabled, they can then be converted into the user's selected supported cashback asset, subject to a minimum of 50 points. Bybit also states that Reward Points themselves do not expire.
That flexibility is useful, but it also illustrates why reward type matters when comparing crypto cards — the subject of our guide to which asset your cashback arrives in.
Two cards can both advertise 2% cashback while delivering that reward through different assets, timing and redemption mechanics.
Crypto Conversion Fees Become More Relevant
The October change also makes an existing part of the Bybit Card economics more important: crypto conversion costs.
This is not a new fee being introduced on October 5.
When non-fiat assets fund a Card transaction, Bybit converts the required crypto using its One-Click Sell exchange rate and applies the crypto conversion fee associated with that regional Card programme.
Current published Global rates include a 0.9% crypto conversion fee in Australia, Asia Pacific, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Brazil and Mexico, while Argentina currently lists 0.5%. Bybit's current Peru fee table lists crypto conversion as unsupported, highlighting the importance of checking the rules for the specific regional Card programme.
Foreign exchange or international transaction fees can also apply depending on the region and transaction currency.
That does not mean users should simply subtract a 0.9% conversion fee from a 2% cashback rate and call the remainder their net return. Exchange rates, transaction currency, regional fees and individual circumstances can all affect the final economics.
But once crypto funding becomes a requirement for Global cashback, the cost of converting that crypto becomes more relevant to the value of the reward.
For someone earning the 2% base rate, that relationship matters more than it does for a user earning 6%, 8% or 10%.
The broader lesson is simple: headline cashback is only one side of the transaction. Our guide to the fees crypto cards don't put on the front page goes further into the costs that sit underneath a reward rate.
The Subscription Benefit Is Changing Too
The second October 5 update affects Bybit's 100% cashback benefit on selected subscriptions.
Non-VIP Tier 2 Beta users will no longer receive the 100% subscription cashback benefit. VIP Tier 2 Beta users will remain eligible, subject to the applicable programme terms.
Current eligible subscriptions include:
- ChatGPT Plus
- Claude Pro
- Netflix
- Spotify
- TradingView
- Financial Times
- Shahid
- iQIYI
Users who rely on this benefit should therefore check both their reward tier and VIP status before the change takes effect.
Bybit EU Remains Different
The October 5 crypto-funding requirement does not apply to Bybit EU, according to Bybit's clarification to CryptoCards.one.
Bybit EU already moved non-VIP users to a different cashback structure earlier this year.
Eligible non-VIP purchases now receive 1% cashback with no monthly cashback cap. VIP users retain the existing tiered reward structure, with cashback rates ranging from 2% to 10%.
Bybit also confirmed to CryptoCards.one that eligible EU purchases can continue to earn cashback when funded with either fiat or crypto.
That creates a meaningful difference between the two programmes:
- Base cashback — Global non-VIP: 2% · Bybit EU non-VIP: 1%
- Base monthly cashback cap — Global non-VIP: $5 · Bybit EU non-VIP: no cashback cap
- Funding eligibility from Oct. 5 — Global non-VIP: eligible crypto-funded transactions · Bybit EU non-VIP: eligible fiat or crypto transactions
The EU structure therefore trades a lower non-VIP headline rate for an uncapped reward and greater flexibility in how an eligible purchase can be funded.
Crypto-funded EU purchases may still carry conversion costs. Bybit EU currently charges a 0.9% crypto conversion fee, while transactions in a currency different from the card denomination can incur a 0.5% FX fee on top of Mastercard's exchange rate.
The most suitable funding method can therefore differ depending on the user, region and transaction.
What Global Users Should Check Before October 5
For cardholders who actively use the Bybit Card for cashback, three things are worth checking before the new rules take effect:
- Paying With settings — If fiat is enabled and available in the card's denomination, it will normally be used before crypto. Users who want cashback-eligible crypto spending should make sure their payment settings reflect that.
- Regional conversion costs — Crypto conversion and FX fees differ between Bybit Card programmes.
- Reward tier and cashback cap — The advertised cashback percentage is only part of the equation. Users should also understand the spending requirement and maximum cashback available at their tier.
The Bottom Line
The October 5 update is a good example of why crypto cards should not be compared on cashback percentage alone.
There are several positives that remain intact: Global users retain the existing rewards ladder, rates can reach 10%, users have multiple eligible crypto assets to choose from, Card and Pay activity can combine toward tier progression, and Bybit gives users control over which assets fund their card spending.
At the same time, the new requirement makes it more important to understand the mechanics underneath a purchase.
A card payment may look identical at the checkout, but the funding asset, conversion cost, reward tier and regional programme can materially change the economics behind it.
For Global Bybit Card users, that distinction will soon determine whether an eligible purchase earns cashback at all.
From October 5, it is not enough to ask how much cashback the Bybit Card offers. Users also need to know what actually funded the transaction.
Common questions
Does Bybit Card cashback still work if I pay with fiat?
Not on the Global programme from 5 October 2026 at 10:00 UTC: only eligible purchases funded with crypto earn cashback. Bybit EU is unaffected — EU cardholders earn on eligible purchases funded with either fiat or crypto.
Which crypto assets count for Bybit cashback after October 5?
Bybit confirmed to CryptoCards.one that the eligible assets are USDT, USDC, ETH, MNT, GRAM, BTC, XRP and BNB. Bybit deducts card-denominated fiat first, so turn fiat spending off under Paying With if you want purchases to be crypto-funded.
Are the Bybit Card cashback tiers changing?
No. The Global ladder stays at 2% (Base, $5 cap) up to 10% (Infinite, $600 cap). What changes is the funding requirement, plus non-VIP Tier 2 Beta users lose the 100% subscription cashback benefit; VIP Tier 2 users keep it.
