Wirex One Opens to the Public on Circle's Arc
Wirex's stablecoin neobank launched publicly on 16 September as a day-one partner on Circle's Arc mainnet, with a non-custodial wallet and up to 8% cashback.
Wirex has opened Wirex One to the public. The launch came on 16 September 2026, the same day Circle switched on the mainnet of Arc, its stablecoin-focused blockchain — and Wirex was one of Arc's day-one launch partners.
Wirex describes Wirex One as a stablecoin neobank for the "mass affluent": one app for spending, yield, overseas transfers, borrowing and investing, with the Wirex One Card as the everyday spending end of it. It follows a closed beta that Wirex says reached more than 20,000 users after starting in June.
What launched
According to Wirex's announcement, Wirex One combines:
- A stablecoin-funded card with up to 8% cashback in USD
- Tiered membership, with higher rewards, fee-free trading and dedicated account management at the upper tiers
- Non-custodial wallets built with Privy, so users keep ownership of their assets
- Arc as the settlement layer, chosen for what Wirex calls its stablecoin-native, payments-optimised design, built-in privacy layer and real-time settlement
Wirex also says Arc is now available as a settlement layer to any partner issuing cards and accounts through the Wirex API — so the change reaches beyond Wirex's own app.
Pavel Matveev, Wirex's co-founder and CEO, summed up the pitch as "a bank that you control, not a bank that controls you."
How the card compares
Our Wirex One Card page carries the tier details Wirex's team confirmed to us, last checked on 19 September:
- Base — 0.5% cashback, free
- Premium — 1%
- Elite — 3%
- Private — 5%
- Bespoke — 8%
Cashback is credited to a Rewards Balance with no per-transaction cap. It can be moved into the spending balance up to a monthly redemption limit of $25 to $2,000 depending on tier, and anything unredeemed rolls forward.
One detail is worth checking before relying on it. The launch announcement describes fee-free FX and ATM withdrawals globally. The fee schedule Wirex's team confirmed to us shows a 0.35% FX fee, and free ATM withdrawals up to a monthly allowance that rises with tier — from $100 on Base to $2,500 on Private, and unlimited on Bespoke — with 2% after that. Some Wirex pages still list FX as free, so it is worth confirming the figures for your own tier in the app.
Why Arc matters here
Most crypto cards still settle in ordinary currency behind the scenes. Wirex has been moving the other way: it already settles its card programme on-chain with Visa in USDC and EURC, and the Arc integration extends that.
It is part of a wider shift we have been following — including SoFi moving its whole card programme onto stablecoin settlement last week. For cardholders, settlement rails are mostly invisible. What they do change is cost and speed for the issuer, and over time that shows up in fees.
The custody point is more directly useful. A non-custodial wallet means the funds are yours rather than the provider's, which changes what happens if the provider runs into trouble — the trade-offs are covered in our guide to custodial versus self-custody cards.
