Gnosis Pay Card Stops Working on 20 December 2026: Where Cardholders Can Move
Gnosis Pay's card and web app stop on 20 December 2026. EUR cards can move to Rebind and USD cards to Picnic or MiniPay; GBP has no partner yet.
Gnosis Pay has put a date on the end of its own consumer card. In a formal notice sent to cardholders on 21 September 2026, it says every Gnosis Pay card, physical and virtual, stops working at 23:59 UTC on 20 December 2026. The web app closes at the same moment for everything except withdrawals. When we reported the wind-down in September, the company had said only "by the end of 2026".
Your money is not affected. Funds sit in a self-custodial Safe wallet that you control, and Gnosis Pay says there is no deadline for withdrawing them.
The dates
- 30 September 2026: GNO cashback ended at every partner app
- 7 October 2026: final cashback distribution
- 30 October 2026: last day to ask support to check a cashback payout
- 20 December 2026, 23:59 UTC: the card stops and the web app closes, except for withdrawals
- 18 June 2027: general cardholder support ends
- 12 June 2028: support for refunds, disputes and chargebacks ends
Where you can move
Gnosis Pay's help centre now names a route for most cardholders:
- EUR cards: Rebind. Your account, IBAN and card carry over, with no new ID checks. Gnosis Pay gives two migration routes, rebind.co/gnosis-pay from the web app and rebind.co/zeal from inside the Zeal app, and warns that nobody from either company will ask for your seed phrase.
- USD cards: Picnic if you are in Brazil, with no new ID checks, and MiniPay elsewhere. MiniPay runs on Celo rather than Gnosis Chain, so it means opening a new account; your existing Safe stays where it is.
- GBP cards: no partner yet. Gnosis Pay says it is working on one and will post an update in the coming weeks. The card works normally until 20 December.
If you already use the card through Rebind, Picnic, GreenCart, MiniPay or the Gnosis App, there is nothing to do. Those apps are moving to Gnosis Pay's new platform and will issue their own cards.
Zeal users have less room. Gnosis Pay says Zeal's card services will be wound up by 20 December 2026. It recommends first adding a wallet you control as a second owner of your Safe, from the browser inside the Zeal app, so that you do not depend on Zeal to sign transactions, and withdrawing anything held in Zeal's earn product before migrating.
The move happens in two stages. First you join a partner app, which may import your existing card and Safe. Later, when that partner's own programme goes live, you accept new terms and receive a partner card. Gnosis Pay's notice is clear that this is a new contract, with its own fees, FX arrangements, limits and rewards, so compare them before you choose.
What stops and what continues
On 20 December the card stops authorising payments and ATM withdrawals. Subscriptions and other recurring payments on it will fail, and they cannot be transferred: you have to give each merchant new card details. In the web app, everything except withdrawing closes, including freezing the card, viewing its details and PIN, setting limits, viewing transaction history and adding or removing Safe owners.
What continues:
- Your Safe and your funds. The withdrawal page stays open, and the Safe can also be reached with any Safe-compatible wallet.
- Your EUR IBAN, if you have one. It is provided by Monerium and linked to your wallet rather than your card, so incoming transfers keep arriving.
- Your rights over past transactions. Refunds, disputes and chargebacks can still be raised. The card's issuer is Monavate, and complaints about the payment service go to it.
Before 20 December
Gnosis Pay's checklist, in short:
- Check that you can open the wallet that owns your Safe, and that its recovery phrase is stored safely. If that wallet is lost, nobody can recover the funds.
- Consider adding a second owner to the Safe. It takes a few clicks in the web app today and is a manual on-chain task afterwards.
- If salary or regular payments arrive on your IBAN, redirect them or move the IBAN to a wallet you use.
- Download your card transactions from the web app, and note the card's last four digits and expiry date. You will need them for any later refund or dispute.
- List the subscriptions billed to the card, so you can move them.
If you had an account before Gnosis Pay's security incident in June 2026 and never moved your balance to the new Safe, the funds may still be in the old one. Gnosis Pay's help centre gives a separate page for checking and withdrawing them, which also has no deadline.
If you are choosing a card now
The Gnosis Pay Card is closed to new sign-ups. Rebind keeps the same self-custodial setup for euro cardholders, though it has not announced a cashback programme of its own since GNO cashback ended. Other options are compared on our self-custody cards page.

Common questions
When does the Gnosis Pay card stop working?
At 23:59 UTC on 20 December 2026, for physical and virtual cards alike. The Gnosis Pay web app closes at the same moment for everything except withdrawals.
Will I lose my money if I do nothing?
No. Your funds stay in your self-custodial Safe on Gnosis Chain, and Gnosis Pay says there is no deadline for withdrawing them. What stops is the card, the web app and, later, support. You do need to keep access to the wallet that owns your Safe.
Which app should Gnosis Pay cardholders move to?
Gnosis Pay recommends Rebind for EUR cards, Picnic for USD cards in Brazil and MiniPay for USD cards elsewhere. It had not named a partner for GBP cards when we checked on 3 October 2026.
