Three dated changes land within four days of each other next week. One is a deadline to act on, one raises a cost, and one is a change whose size has not been published yet. All three dates come from the issuers' own pages.

12 October: Solid's lock amounts rise

On the Solid Card, a new 12-month lock will need 70,000 FUSE for Prime, up from 50,000, and 600,000 FUSE for Ultra, up from 400,000. Solid's Rewards terms say the change applies to locks made on or after 12 October 2026 at 00:00 UTC, and that a lock made before then "remains valid for its full Lock Period" at the lower amount.

Solid first set this date as 8 October and moved it when it revised the terms on 6 October. The $199 yearly Prime subscription is unchanged, and members who reached a tier before 25 September keep it until Solid gives 30 days' notice. The full picture is in our report on the new tier rules.

15 October: the Krak Card's US reward tiers

Kraken's help page for the US Krak card carries this notice: "Starting October 15, 2026, we're increasing the average balance required to qualify for each rewards tier, and adjusting cashback rates accordingly for US clients."

Today the US tiers are set by your 30-day average balance across Krak, Kraken and Kraken Pro:

  • $200 or more: 0.5%
  • $1,000 or more: 1%
  • $10,000 or more: 1.5%
  • $50,000 or more: 2%

Kraken had not published the new balances or rates when we checked on 9 October, and the page its notice links to does not give them. The notice names US clients only. The UK and EEA card has the same four rates at £ and € thresholds, and nothing on Kraken's pages says those are changing.

We will update the card page when Kraken publishes the figures.

15 October: Tangem Pay's FX markup

Tangem Pay is a US dollar card, so a purchase in any other currency is converted. Its card terms set that at Visa's exchange rate plus 1.5%. Tangem told us the markup is 1% until 15 October 2026.

On $500 of spending abroad that is $7.50 instead of $5. Tangem's own advice is to choose the local currency whenever a terminal offers a choice.

Tangem Pay also began shipping physical cards on 9 October.

Already in force this month

  • Solid, 5 October: category cashback replaced the 25% and 50% subscription cashback for new subscriptions. Prime now earns 10% on AI tools, streaming and music and 8% on rides; Ultra earns 20%, 10% on rides and 10% on flights booked direct.
  • Solid, 9 October: a euro balance with no FX fee for cards issued by Wirex.
  • Bybit, 5 October: only crypto-funded purchases earn cashback outside the EEA, as reported earlier.
  • Tria, 8 October: the cashback guide for the Tria Card no longer mentions the staking boost. Until 30 September it said an active Staking badge added to the rate within your monthly cap, giving 5% in its example instead of 4.5%. The base rates are unchanged: 1.5% on Lite, 4.5% on Pro and 6% on Max. Tria has not announced the change, so check the app if you were relying on a boost.

Still to come

  • Ether.fi says its airport lounge passes are "expected to launch in mid-late October": two passes on Luxe and unlimited on Pinnacle and VIP.
  • Gnosis Pay's own card and app stop working on 20 December 2026.
